He saw the screen went blank immediately. The next second, a white ball of light suddenly appeared in the middle of the dark empty screen.

The boy that he had been searching madly appeared in the middle of the bright ball of light with his body curled up.

When he saw Wen Fan’s image clearly, he felt that his heart had skipped a beat. The young man’s limbs squeezed together tightly, in a self-protective posture, with his hands folded in front of his chest, bending his knees in the ball of light.

He looked like an elf that was forced to fall asleep.

Lou Wei couldn’t hide the shakiness in his voice, “Fan Fan.”

He lightly tapped the ball of light on the screen.

The next moment, the ball of light suddenly cracked a gap, and the sleeping boy suddenly opened his eyes when he heard his voice, and met Lou Wei’s gaze through the gap.

The moment Wen Fan saw Lou Wei’s face clearly, he struggled with all his might to crawl out from the ball of light.

It felt like years being sealed in the dark space. At the beginning, he could still feel the passage of time, but slowly, he completely lost sense of time and he couldn’t tell how long it had been since he was being sealed in the dark space. When he finally heard Lou Wei’s voice and saw him, it was simply as if he finally caught a glow of light from the crack from the bottomless abyss.

And when he finally came out from his imprisonment, the pitch black space around him instantly changed back to the previous desktop. The APPs around him became active once again. QQ Penguin crawled out of the APP shelf, rubbing against Wen Fan with a miserable expression, hugging his thigh.

Wen Fan stared blankly at his palm, and then stared at Lou Wei who was outside the screen. His whole body that had been ice cold finally began to warm up.

He opened his mouth for a long while but he was unable to speak. When he recalled the memory of being forced to ‘seal’ inside the ball like some storage items, he still had lingering fears over it.

Those who haven’t experienced it personally wouldn’t understand who it felt like being  imprisoned alive in a small confined space. Even a short period of time will feel like it’s been stretched, living in fear of being forced to die every minute, every second.

Lou Wei leaned closer and saw the panic and fear in Wen Fan’s bright puppy eyes. The young man’s face was pale and his hair was messy.

Lou Wei found it hard to accept the indescribable sense of self-blame and powerlessness. He once promised that he would never let Wen Fan be in a dangerous situation again. But he didn’t expect that he would break this promise so soon.

The man’s left hand that was placed on his lap was already bleeding because of his fingernail digging too deep into his skin. However, his right hand that was touching the phone screen was still as gentle as ever. He rubbed Wen Fan’s head and helped him fix his hair. He then immediately changed the system update setting mode to ‘don’t update’. His brain was turning fast, thinking of ways he could protect Wen Fan.

Although Lin Xiu and this system update incident did not cause substantial damage to Wen Fan, it is difficult to guarantee that he would be lucky next time. And both of the incidents were a result of Wen Fan inability to leave the mobile phone.

If they look at it in another way, if Fan Fan is aware of his own data code, is it possible that he can transfer his own data code to travel back and forth between different electronic products without any restrictions? Wouldn’t that be safer?

Lou Wei asked Wen Fan, “Can you feel your own programing code?”

Wen Fan shook his head.

Previously, when he received the sound source that Lou Wei developed for him, he already discovered that there was no way for him to leave Lou Wei’s phone. Moreover, he couldn’t feel his own data code, therefore, it is impossible for him to copy and transfer his code to another electronic device.

Lou Wei thought for a while, and directly called the phone number of the chairman of Maple Technology, the manufacturer of his mobile phone.

The few software and game companies had exchanged each other’s contact numbers during the previous gathering so that it is not difficult to communicate with each other at all.

Regardless of how familiar they are, Lou Wei’s request still placed Hua Feng, the chairman of Maple Mobile Company in a difficult situation.

When Hua Feng, the middle-age man heard Lou Wei’s words, he hesitated, “Xiao Lou, are you saying that you wanted the data code for our latest version of the floating ball system for S27?”

Over his years as the CEO of a technology company, this is the first time he heard such a request.

But any relevant data inside the mobile phone was confidential information to the company. Maple Technology is a listed company, eventually, he does not have the power of making the final decision, there were a few bigger shareholders above him. If he leaked the company’s secret, he would be the first one to be fired from the company.

Wen Fan sat in the middle of Lou Wei’s personal mobile phone, holding the QQ Penguin, listening to Lou Wei and Hua Feng’s conversation.

Of course, Hua Feng rejected Lou Wei’s request.

Lou Wei didn’t give up and added, “If it is not convenient for your company…” Lou Wei continued, “I heard that Maple Technology’s latest proposal is about 3D holographic projection.”

Hua Feng was taken aback as he wondered how Lou Wei learnt about it. As an insider of the industry, nobody would bring up the fact that they were checking in on the progress of peer or semi-peer companies.

He was really surprised that Lou Wei suddenly brought this up, “Do you have any advice on that?” Hua Feng had high hopes for the young man who led a small team of only a few people and was able to create the popular mobile game- ‘Heaven’s Dream’.

If it wasn’t because ‘Heaven’s Dream’ was a PC game which sort of gave it a restriction compared to ‘Compagnon’ which is an RPG that could be played by anyone of any age and can be logged in with a mobile phone, it’s hard to tell if ‘Heaven Dream’ could be more popular than ‘Compagnon’.

When he heard Lou Wei talking about 3D holographic projection, he had a feeling that Lou Wei knew something.

Even Wen Fan pricked his ears to listen attentively.

He was drenched in cold sweat by the system update just now. He quickly returned to ‘Sims mansion’ to take a shower while Lou Wei was talking on the phone. After showering, he changed into clean clothes. After he walked out, Lou Wei pressed a set of ‘Pikachu’ costume on him.

When he listened to Lou Wei talking on the phone now, his two golden ears pointed up like telephone poles.

The penguin in Wen Fan’s arms tried to touch his ears but it accidentally touched his cheek instead. A hundred thousand volts of electric currents shot out from Wen Fan’s cheek and electrocuted the penguin and turned it into a charcoal black fried penguin.

Wen Fan, “…”
