Wen Fan turned around and saw Lou Wei staring at his phone screen with a hideous expression.

He immediately asked, “What’s the matter?”

“Nothing.” Lou Wei clicked on the screen and said emotionlessly, “It’s just some scam calls.”

Really?

Wen Fan recalled that his mobile phone was specially customized by Maple Technology and even his mobile phone number was a special number issued by the telecommunications company, and he wouldn’t be able to receive any advertising calls.

In less than two seconds, Lou Wei’s phone rang again. Wen Fan was even more certain of his suspicions.

He never saw Lou Wei being so impatient. The anger that Lou Wei struggle to hide had turned his face ice cold.

When Lou Wei answered the phone, he didn’t talk but waited for the person on the other end to speak first.

From the angle where he was standing, Wen Fan happened to see the caller ID displayed on Lou Wei’s phone screen. It was from Lou Ke.

It was Lou Wei’s father who didn’t care about his children.

Wen Fan understood the reason behind Lou Wei’s irritability. He cautiously walked to the edge of the screen and looked at Lou Wei.

Lou Ke was aging but an arbitrary voice was heard from the phone, “It will be 12th March on the lunar calendar in a few days time. Come home on that day.”

As soon as Lou Ke finished speaking, Lou Wei sneered, “Home?”

The old man on the other end of the line seems to be sighing, “…come over.”

Lou Wei glanced at the date in the lower right corner of the computer, 31st March. His eyes were full of sarcasm, “Celebrating your little lover’s birthday?”

“You!” Lou Ke is getting old, his voice was unable to conceal the fact that he is old. However, the vigor of his tone was no less than how it was back then. It could even be seen that Lou Wei had inherited his shadow, “Do you really have to make your dad angry like this?”

Lou Wei lifted his hand and clicked the calendar in the lower right corner of the computer. 12th March on the lunar calendar is 14th April, the Qingming Festival. (T/N: Qingming Festival refers to Tomb Sweeping Day, a festival to visit the grave and offer prayers to the dead.)

He closed the calendar and kept quiet for a long time.

Lou Ke thought Lou Wei listened to him and he continued, “Come back with Xia Xia on the 11th and stay a few days here. Aunt Zhou also wants…”.

Although Lou Wei’s face was already cold, he still suppressed his emotion and listened to what Lou Ke wanted to say. But when Lou Ke mentioned ‘Aunt Zhou’, Wen Fan immediately interrupted him, “Are you, my dad?”

He lowered his voice and said word by word, “Are you even worthy?”

Lou Ke yelled angrily, “You!”

“It’s Zhou Ke’s birthday again? What do you want? You only think of me when you can’t satisfy your wife?” Wen Fan has never heard Lou Wei speak with such sarcasm. The man’s voice was low and clear. But every word that came out from his mouth seemed to be covered with sharp blades, “Why did you call me instead of Xia Xia?”

Lou Wei did not wait for Lou Ke to answer before he continued, “Oh, I forgot. She has already blocked you.”

Lou Ke already sounded like he was panting. He kept saying to Lou Wei on the other end of the line, “You, you…!”

But Lou Wei didn’t care. He deliberately talked slowly and every word of his seemed like they wanted to stab on Lou Ke’s heart, “If today is the 1st of April, April Fool’s Day, perhaps I will agree. After all, deceiving others is your old trick, right?”

After he finished speaking, he hung up the phone immediately.

The moment he put down the phone, he realized that Wen Fan was still beside him. He realized that his tone was harsh just now and he might have frightened Wen Fan. But he recalled the conversation with Lou Ke just now, he couldn’t hold down the anger in his heart and he lifted his hand to rub in between his eyebrows.

This is the first time that Wen Fan saw Lou Wei looking so fretful, “Lou Wei, are…are you alright?”

Lou Wei kept quiet for a long while before saying in a deep voice, “Zhou Yuan, is Lou Ke’s current wife. And she is his third wife. She was only twenty when she married Lou Ke, who was forty-four years old.”

This is all he needed to say and Wen Fan could instantly picture a series of family ethics dramas.

In fact, this is true.

Lou Wei lifted a cup of tea and took a sip,

“My mother’s name is Wang Xiu. When I was three years old, Lou Ke divorced her. And in less than a month’s time, he married Lou Xia’s mother, Li Yunxiu. Aunt Li wasn’t able to get pregnant and Lou Ke started to have affairs outside and never cared about me. She was the one who raised me. At first, Aunt Li thought Lou Ke kept having affairs because she couldn’t get pregnant. When I was seven years old, Aunt Li finally got pregnant and gave birth to Lou Xia. And it was during that time that she learned that, Lou Ke was simply…” Lou Wei let out a cold snort, suppressing the next half of the sentence.

Wen Fan already sensed that Lou Wei was about to say a curse.

He listened to Lou Wei who continued, “Lou Xia’s mother passed away on Qingming Festival. Lou Xia was three years old when she passed away.”

Wen Fan was taken aback.
