Lou Wei lowered his head and ran his fingertips across the rim of the cup. His voice was flat but he sounded really depressed, “She had been living in so much grievance and she was diagnosed with breast cancer. 14th April was the day she went into the operating theater. Zhou Yuan called and told her that she wanted to celebrate her birthday, so Lou Ke will not be going home that day.”

The corners of Lou Wei’s mouth were in a straight line. When he pursed his lips slightly, there was a malicious look that others would not be able to replicate and let alone, his tone was filled with mockery, “The orphan who doesn’t even know when her birthday just wanted to pick that day to celebrate her birthday.”

“…” Anger rose in Wen Fan’s heart while he was listening to this.

What kind of scum is this?

No wonder Lou Wei couldn’t hold up a proper conversation with Lou Ke over the phone. This Lou Ke and Zhou Yuan are not good people!

And they still have the nerve to ask Lou Wei and Lou Xia to go back and celebrate Zhou Yuan’s birthday?! Wen Fan thought about how Lou Xia’s sweet and charming face was very similar to Lou Wei and he couldn’t help and felt his heart ached a little. Her mother passed away when she was three years old and he had been living with his brother since she was ten years old and she hardly saw her father. What sort of cold family environment is this?

The more Wen Fan analyzed the situation, the angrier he got. A ball of flame rose on top of his head. The penguin beside him drew out a BBQ rack and placed it on top of Wen Fan’s head and started barbecuing. It then heard Wen Fan yelled in a low voice, “Scum!”

The tiny ball of flame above his head instantly burst into a big fire and it burned the penguin’s barbecued meat.

Penguin, “Yikes. TnT!!!”

Wen Fan did not take notice of the condition of the penguin behind him. He was still feeling upset for Lou Wei and Lou Xia, “No way. This Zhou Yuan is simply too much. We can’t—”

“Can’t let her get away?” Lou Wei continued Wen Fan’s words. At first, he was feeling depressed, but when he saw the young man walking around anxiously on the screen, he suddenly felt his depression had vanished. Wen Fan was so angry that he puffed his cheeks, pouted his lips while staring on the floor. His eyes were filled with anger and he looked extremely angry.

When he heard Lou Wei’s words, he nodded vigorously in justice, “Yes, we definitely can’t let her get away with this!”

Lou Ke is almost sixty and he can’t even draw a proper proposal plan for the company. Furthermore, the business performance of the Lou Group had been declining due to the suppression of non-innovative private companies in the past two years. Lou Wei doesn’t want to help out in managing Lou Group. Knowing Lou Ke’s nature, he would rather let an outsider inherit Lou Group instead of passing it down to Zhou Yuan who doesn’t know anything about the business world.

Lou Wei knew Lou Ke too well.

Lou Ke was someone who could spend his time celebrating the birthday of an orphan who doesn’t even know her own actual birth date when her critically ill wife is about to undergo an operation. So, when he is old, he simply wouldn’t pass any shares to his young wife who had no self-defense at all to hold an impact on the future of the company.

In Lou Ke’s eyes, none of his wives is worth mentioning. Only the stable development of his company is his top priority.

Lou Wei was well aware of this.

And Lou Ke never expected that in order to get the major share of the company, those who helped him to manage the business had already held a total share that was far greater than what Lou Ke owned.

This is what he and Lou Xia had made a deal on.

This was the surprise that they had planned for Lou Ke and Zhou Yuan during Lou Ke’s birthday banquet six months later.

No one knows if this old man with a young wife could live a comfortable life during Lou Ke’s old age.

Lou Wei’s voice was not loud, but every word was strong enough to break the heart. Wen Fan leaned on the screen and stared at him. For the very first time, Wen Fan wished that he could touch Lou Wei.

He looked at the man outside the screen, and realized what it meant by ‘so near, yet so far.’

“You are a good brother.” Wen Fan said softly.

He didn’t really know how to comfort someone. In this situation, he wasn’t able to give Lou Wei a consoling pat on the shoulder, so he could only try his best not to sound so dull, “You’ve done a really good job taking care of Lou Xia.”

Wen Fan had no idea how a ten-year-old boy raised his three-year-old sister. Wen Fan was the only child in his family, but he could only imagine that it must have been a very difficult experience for ordinary children.

After he finished his words, he was still a little frustrated. He had a feeling that his words were too powerless to comfort others at all.

He couldn’t help but let out a sigh secretly. His shoulders dropped a little.

Lou Wei stared at the tiny man on the screen who couldn’t conceal his sympathy. Lou Wei felt the urge to laugh. In fact, after so many years, besides feeling disgusted by Lou Ke and Zhou Yuan, he actually didn’t feel upset and didn’t need anyone to comfort him.

But seeing Wen Fan reacted in such a way because of his matter, Lou Wei couldn’t help but feel a secret joy in his heart. He even wanted to make himself sound more phosphatic so that the person in front of him would worry about him more,

Lou Wei’s plan succeeded.

He watched as Wen Fan held the penguin in his arm with an unconcealable depressed expression on his face. He secretly pinched the penguin’s large face with his fingers and whispered, “If only I can touch Lou Wei now, I will definitely give him a big hug.”

While Wen Fan was thinking about this, he didn’t expect that he accidentally say it out loud.
