Chapter 22.1 – Speech

Ma Xiaoding was still in a daze when he walked out of the corridor, acting like he’d been the one who’d dominated the scene just now as he told his little follower brothers to prop up a lifeless Zhu Zhixing.

He followed attentively behind Song Yu, and his calls of ’Brother Yu’ was particularly clear and loud. It was like he wanted everyone on the street to hear it.

Song Yu was annoyed by his antics, “What are you doing?”

He hadn’t even started settling accounts with Ma Xiaoding––if he hadn’t come today, would Ma Xiaoding have led his little brothers to find Chen Zhijie and sent themselves to get beaten?

Ma Xiaoding had no self-awareness at all, “Brother Yu! Why did you let that group of people go just now! Didn’t you see how disgusting they were at the start? And your fight today! We’re now completely, thoroughly famous on Linqing Street! School bullies are nothing––we’re the father of this street! Such prestige!”

Song Yu: “……”

Only little brats would look for fights everywhere.

He couldn’t bear it anymore and said coldly, “How many times do I have to tell you? I’m here to learn.”

Ma Xiaoding grew very aggrieved from his stare and finally quieted down.

As they walked on, Ma Xiaoding suddenly found that the scenery around them was familiar, “Ah, how come we’re going in the direction of our junior high school.”

Song Yu was too lazy to deal with him.

Jingcheng No.1 High was very close to the experimental junior high school.

They left Linqing Street and went around two blocks.

After all this, it was already nearing evening. The afterglow of dusk coated the high-rise buildings, shining on the school fence between an allee of trees, the orange light gentle and brilliant. There was a snack street across the school, and the fragrance could be found ten miles away.

Experimental Junior High had also started school.

It wasn’t easy for outsiders to enter, but Song Yu didn’t plan to go in.

He had a deep impression of a particular plot point in <Gentle Control>.

He went straight down the street.

There was an alley at the back entrance of the school with a very big tree planted there, which was shaped a bit like an upside down heart. Because of this, students called it a ‘love tree’. The ‘love tree’ grew against the wall, and it had become a sacred place for students, old and new.

The wall next to the tree was covered with colorful graffiti. It was full of love confessions and anniversary dates. Of course, it wasn’t just love. It was also a wall for the students from the school to vent; hate, jealousy, pressure, and all sorts of negative emotions were left carved on it.

Vague words could be seen, like ‘A certain someone, I like you’, ‘The teacher from Class X is disgusting’, ‘I’m so angry, XXX is a bitch’. However, the most striking thing was a line of text written at the top with a red pen.

“Xie Sui’s mother is a prostitute.”

There were people who’d written question marks below the statement, some who’d added to the situation by following up with ‘hahaha’s and similar comments. It was both extremely innocent and extremely evil.

It was here.

Song Yu had a clear impression of this place.

Because this place was a key plot point in <Gentle Control>. Gong #1 had heard about this place from others and used it to get close to Xie Sui.

This wall was on the way to school for Xie Sui.

Seeing it every day, day after day, revisiting this humiliation and ridicule, written in scarlet, blood red letters. He’d tried to clear up his past, explained it, yelled it, but it was all useless. Any resistance or cover up made him guilty in the eyes of outsiders and, over time, it had become an increasingly accepted ‘truth’.

Ma Xiaoding knew about this area, the love tree and the confession wall. However, in his opinion, it was nothing but a place for little girls to vent their emotions, and he didn’t care about it at all as a school bully.

He kicked up a fuss.

“Brother Yu, why do you know about this place?”

Song Yu’s footsteps came to a stop beneath the tree. He looked up at the colorful wall full of graffiti, ignoring Ma Xiaoding as he looked at Zhu Zhixing, who’d already been scared to the point of having weak knees and trembling lips.

His face didn’t hold much expression and his tone was light, “Is this place familiar?”

For Zhu Zhixing, who’d been scared the whole way over, this sentence was the last straw that crushed the camel’s back. He completely collapsed, kneeling on the ground to cry and wail, “I was wrong! Big brother, I was wrong! I wasn’t the only one who wrote these words, big brother, I’ll tell you their names, please let me go!”

His small eyes were red and he was so scared he was shedding tears. He was really afraid that he’d be killed here by Song Yu. When he turned his head and saw Xie Sui, it was like he’d seen hope. He crawled over on his knees and reached out to tug at Xie Sui’s trousers, “Xie Sui! We grew up together in the same neighborhood, I’m just someone who likes to run their mouth and I say things randomly, but if I ask myself honestly, I really haven’t done anything to you. Please help me out! Xie Sui! Your grandmother knows me! We’re all neighbors, please save me!”

Not just Song Yu, but even the oblivious Ma Xiaoding was about to die from anger at his shamelessness.

He kicked Zhu Zixing on the buttocks, “Just based on those f*cking things you did in junior high! You’ll already be lucky if Xie Sui doesn’t kill you!”

Zhu Zhixing’s tears were like streams down his face, his words incoherent, “I was wrong, I won’t dare to do it again, I was wrong! Big brother, let me go! I want to go home! Xie Sui! Xie Sui! Help me say something!”

Song Yu ignored him and tilted his head towards Xie Sui.

Xie Sui stood in the shadow beneath the leaves. He looked up at the words on the wall, his peach blossom eyes cold and deep.

His expression was half shadowed, and indecipherable.

A long time later, Xie Sui’s lips moved, and he smiled.

It was just that it made everyone present feel an inexplicable sense of danger.

Song Yu was also stunned.

He felt that Xie Sui’s smile just now was very strange, just like his dream of the man in a windbreaker who’d been holding a gun.

The same kind of boredom and indifference.

Zhu Zhixing didn’t speak, but his face was covered in tears as he knelt on the concrete floor, staring dazedly at the youth who walked up to him.

Xie Sui took two steps forward on his long legs, then leaned forward slightly. Beneath his short hair, his black eyes were narrow and cold. The smile on the corner of his lips was faint, and it was unclear if it was joy or anger.

Zhu Zhixing shivered, his entire person stunned silly.

Ma Xiaoding seemed to want to open his mouth and say something useless, but Song Yu stepped on his shoes, causing him to suck in a cold breath and swallow all his words back in.

Zhu Zhixing thought that he would be punched to the ground or kicked over, but the scene of bloody violence in his mind didn’t happen.

From above, there was nothing but the youth’s cold command, “Wipe it off.”

Zhu Zhixing froze briefly from ecstasy. He didn’t have time to deal with his tears and snot, “Yes! Yes! I’ll definitely wipe this wall clean, Xie Sui, I’ll never trouble you again in the future, and I’ll control my mouth from now on!”

He got up too quickly and twisted his foot. His eyebrows pulled together, but it didn’t affect the joy on his face at all. He limped over and crouched at the wall happily and started wiping with his own clothes and saliva. Halfway through, he felt that it was too slow and started scraping at it directly with his hands, not concerning himself with whether or not he was grinding off his nails.

Ma Xiaoding was left dumbfounded; this brat had been let off just like this. He hated iron for not becoming steel, “Xie Sui, this piece of shit treated you like that in junior high; if you don’t dare to do it yourself, I can help you beat him up.”

Song Yu felt that Ma Xiaoding was really useless when it came to thinking, “Is there nothing in your mind except for fighting?”

Ma Xiaoding felt wronged and aggrieved, “……”

Brother Yu, do you really feel like you can say that to me?

Xie Sui’s eyes were on the wall.

It was unknown what he’d recalled after crossing through time and space.

Song Yu pretended to be casual and asked him, “Is that it?”

Xie Sui’s gaze landed on his pale face.

The anger and coldness that had been triggered by this familiar place melted when faced with Song Yu’s eyes.

After a while, he smiled slightly.

“Mm. Let the past remain in the past.”

But cold words flowed in his heart––how could that be.

Song Yu wanted to make Zhu Zhixing shut up for good, but in the final analysis, it was also for the sake of helping Xie Sui untie the knots in his heart from the past.

In the original work, Gong #1 had led Xie Sui here and ordered his subordinates to erase that line of text in front of his eyes.

Now, Song Yu simply brought Zhu Zhixing to this place.

The person who wrote it should be the one who erased it.

The causes and effects of this grievance and resentment could be wrapped up.

“Did you guys have a class group? For junior high.”

Song Yu turned his head to ask Ma Xiaoding.

Ma Xiaoding thought for a while and then shook his head firmly, “No!”

The younger brother behind him was surprised, his head filled with confusion, “What do you mean, no? Brother Ma, did you forget? When the group was first made, you were the most aggressive one there and had to kick up a fuss about everything! As a result, the class monitor was scared into tears in the middle of the night because of your profile picture and you were kicked out the next day.”

Ma Xiaoding: “……”

Song Yu looked at him.

The atmosphere instantly became awkward.

Ma Xiaoding’s younger brother noticed something was wrong after the fact, “I… Did I say something I shouldn’t have said?”

The corner of Song Yu’s lips twitched, “You didn’t. Thank you.”

The younger brother: “??!!!”

What should he do?! After getting a compliment from Brother Yu, he felt like he was about to ascend to heaven.

Chapter 22.2 – Speech

Song Yu walked forward towards the wall.

Zhu Zhixing stiffened as soon as he approached. He even stopped breathing.

Song Yu was taller than him, and he stood up straight.

He lifted his head, looking up at the graffiti beneath the love tree. His voice was distant, “Why did you target Xie Sui like that in junior high.”

Zhu Zhixing’s fingers trembled, his small eyes staring in front of him.

Messy lines of text, childish patterns.

Why had he targeted Xie Sui… probably, it was all due to jealousy. He was good looking, had good grades, and the people he tried his best to please only paid attention to Xie Sui. In the narrow building corridors, amidst endless cursing and swearing that took place every day, there were also the hateful discussions about Xie Sui’s mother. Malice was born, and false information was spread. He’d gotten used to it after a long time.

But it was now too late to say all of that.

Zhu Zhixing’s brain was blank. He’d been frightened by Song Yu in the billiards hall, and now the fear still lingered in his mind.

He was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to survive today.

Tears came down again and he cried in a hoarse voice.

“I was wrong, big brother, I was wrong, I won’t talk nonsense again in the future, really.”

Song Yu: “Tell him why.”

Zhu Zhixing’s nose was red, his eyes tearful as he looked at him, not understanding what he wanted.

Song Yu continued, “Junior high class group. Maybe he really doesn’t care, but this is a long overdue apology that you guys owe him.”

For Zhu Zhixing, this night was really a nightmare he couldn’t wake up from.

His spirit was tense, his limbs stiff.

What people feared most was always the threat of the unknown.

Fear and regret flooded his mind, tearing through his thoughts.

He was scared out of his wits, standing alone by the wall as he scraped off the words bit by bit, his fingertips hurt and bleeding, but he didn’t dare stop.

“Let’s go, it’s almost seven.”

Song Yu turned away.

Ma Xiaoding was still indignant, “Brother Yu! Are we just going to let him go like that?”

Song Yu glanced at him, “You beating him up won’t be as effective as this in teaching him a lesson.”

Ma Xiaoding choked and thought of Zhu Zhixing’s scared silly expression as he stood in front of the wall. He had to shut up.

It seemed like there was some truth there, and Zhu Zhixing, this fool, had better not think about going home tonight. Just let him stay there.

Song Yu and Xie Sui walked ahead.

The September night wind was dry and hot. The earth was an orange red, and the sky was gradually darkening while the high buildings cast shadows over the world. There were many camphor trees planted on both sides of the road, and the leaves on the ground danced with the wind.

Song Yu quietly turned his head over to look at Xie Sui.

Although he’d issued a challenge and beat people up today, and his movements had been like floating clouds and flowing water, in retrospect, he felt a little uncertain.

Now that he’d done this––would Xie Sui really be happy?

In fact, there were some things that weren’t suited to being recalled and brought up again and again.

Song Yu frowned briefly.

Xie Sui walked on in silence, his thin lips pursed, his side profile beautiful and cold. He didn’t speak, and it gave people the feeling that he was very difficult to approach.

Xie Sui was thinking about things.

He wasn’t Song Yu, who would get over things after beating others up. If he really made a move, even if he didn’t have the identity of Young Master Xie from City A, he would still be able to make Zhu Zhixing’s family fall into darkness forever.

“Are you angry?”

After hesitating for a long time, Song Yu still chose to tilt his head and ask what he’d been thinking.

Xie Sui’s thoughts were interrupted. He was a little surprised, then drew his brows together and asked lightly, “Why would you ask that.”

When Song Yu wasn’t beating people up, he really didn’t look like a school bully at all.

His eyelashes curled up, his pupils were clear, and he looked incredibly well-behaved and delicate.

Song Yu thought about it, and his reply was very honest.

“I brought you to this place on my own initiative, but maybe you hadn’t wanted to come back. I’m sorry.”

Xie Sui’s steps paused. He tilted his head to look at him, his dark eyes holding some amusement and gentleness that even he wasn’t aware of, but his voice retained its tranquility.

“You’re actually apologizing to me for that?”

Song Yu hesitated, “I think that there are some things from the past that you might not want to have others know about.”

Not everyone liked to tell others about their misery.

The smile on Xie Sui’s lips deepened.

Really cute.

However, Song Yu’s words were correct.

There were many past events that he didn’t want to recall or share.

The place they went to today.

If anyone other than Song Yu had been the one to bring him here.

The results would be very different.

A trace of deep meaning flashed through Xie Sui’s eyes.

He thought of his last life.

His childhood wasn’t a secret in A City’s upper class society. Many people, particularly women, looked for clues on his life everywhere in order to piece together a silhouette of his miserable childhood life, using it to get in front of him and express their care, tenderness, and love, attempting to get closer with an attitude of ‘I understand you’.

In reality.

It was like digging their own grave.

Xie Sui smiled faintly, “I’m not angry.”

Because it’s you.

Song Yu breathed a sigh of relief. Even after reading the original story, he still didn’t feel that he knew Xie Sui.

“It’s good that you’re not angry.”

So then, it was like saying a complete goodbye to the past.

He’d tossed his things to Ma Xiaoding to hold, leaving only a packet of mints on Song Yu’s body.

He opened up the package and took out a transparent blue candy. He placed it into his mouth, then took out another one and passed it to Xie Sui, asking, “Do you want one?”

He’d just been sharing it subconsciously and soon remembered that Xie Sui had rejected him last time.

“Oh, right, you don’t eat––” The word ‘candy’ arrived at his throat but didn’t come out.

Song Yu’s eyes opened wide and he watched in a daze as Xie Sui took the mint from his hand.

???

He was stunned for a while, and he also asked very directly, “Don’t you not eat candy?”

Xie Sui smiled, “I want to try it. I feel that it should taste very sweet.”

Song Yu sucked on the candy in his mouth and muttered, “Mints aren’t sweet.”

*

When they arrived back at No.1 High, it was just two minutes before 7PM.

It was just that when they went back to Class One, there was nobody there.

Ma Xiaoding called Xi Bowen. After understanding the situation, he hung up the phone and was brimming with anger as he said, “Damn it! Brother Yu, I feel like our class teacher is targeting you! We aren’t even late! But she went ahead and left early, even purposely leaving a snide remark and saying that you’re not here to study but to stir up shit, leading students astray on the first day! Damnit! What’s her problem!”

Song Yu curved his lips briefly and wasn’t bothered by it, “If she doesn’t take us there, we’ll go over by ourselves.”

The rebellion in Ma Xiaoding’s bones started to move sluggishly, “Brother Yu, you’re still going?! She’s already given up on us. Why don’t we go to the internet cafe instead? Let me tell you, the boss was talking to me and pushing a new online game called Extreme Owl Mania. It sounds really interesting.”

Song Yu didn’t care about the ‘school bully’ or ‘street bully’ titles that sounded really poser-like, but he was very dedicated to the title of ‘study god’.

They all picked up their handbooks and headed to the auditorium. After he heard Ma Xiaoding’s words, Song Yu turned around and smacked him on the head with it.

“She gave up on you, so you’ll just go ahead and give up on yourself? What kind of logic is that. Get your ass to the auditorium. Xie Sui’s giving a speech as the freshman representative.”

Ma Xiaoding got beaten then slapped himself on the forehead as he suddenly saw the light and realized, “Oh, right! Xie Sui is going up on stage. Brother Yu, you and Xie Sui should go first. I’ll go and find my younger brothers and buy some glow sticks first! We have to do a good job! The momentum is going to be enough to take down 100 enemies with a single person!”

Song Yu: “???”

But he had no chance to stop him. Ma Xiaoding had already run outside.

“……” Song Yu turned to Xie Sui and said, “In fact, he calls me Brother Yu, but I don’t acknowledge it.”

No.1 High School’s auditorium was quite close to the teaching building.

It was very large and could hold thousands of people inside, but Song Yu had run straight to the back stage.

After all, Xie Sui still needed some time to prepare.

On the way over.

Song Yu tried to find something to talk about and chanted like a mantra, “Don’t be nervous don’t be nervous don’t be nervous don’t be nervous don’t be nervous.”

Xie Sui deliberately wanted to tease him. His dark eyes drooped to half mast and he lowered his gaze, smiling, “What should I do if I get stage fright?”

Song Yu was put on the spot.

He stopped, took out his cell phone, and went to look it up on baidu, “Wait a minute.”

Xie Sui really waited.

Song Yu read off baidu, “The causes of stage fright are related to the adequacy of preparation, familiarity with the audience, and the size of the audience. I see.”

Inspiration hit. Song Yu turned off the screen and said to Xie Sui, “This time, I’ll definitely sit in the most prominent position. You’ll be able to see me as soon as you look up, and you just have to treat everyone else like air and make your speech to me. It should be easier when you’re facing someone you know.”

He managed to amuse Xie Sui. His lips curved, and he said meaningfully, “Alright, I’ll treat them like air. My eyes only have you.”

“……”

Song Yu always felt that something wasn’t right.

Chapter 22.3 – Speech

Starting from 7PM, there would be a round of student performances, followed by a long speech by the president and school leaders, then, finally, there was a speech from the freshman representative. There was still a lot of time left for Xie Sui to prepare. When they went in, the student union came looking for Xie Sui, leaving Song Yu playing on his cell phone alone on a stool in the dressing room.

Ma Xiaoding was in the midst of sending him photos.

Sending him photos of all the support itemss he could find in the supermarket.

They were all extremely exaggerated things, such as glow sticks, neon bracelets and bangles, hair hoops, loudspeakers.

There were even more excessive things.

Ma Xiaoding took a picture of a screaming plastic chicken for him.

[ Sadako Won’t Forget Those Who Dug The Well: Brother Yu! How are these? They make a lot of noise! ]

Song Yu: “……”

He couldn’t bear it anymore.

[ Your Husband, Brother Yu: Get lost. ]

[ Your Husband, Brother Yu: If you dare to bring that back, you’re done for. ]

He didn’t want to be thrown out for making the kind of cry that made one want to tear out their heart and lungs.

[ Sadako Won’t Forget Those Who Dug The Well: [biting hands anxiously][pitiful and aggrieved] ]

[ Sadako Won’t Forget Those Who Dug The Well: [crying][crying][crying] ]

Song Yu ignored Ma Xiaoding.

He went directly to the forums to play around.

Today’s Jingcheng No.1 High forums were still filled with excitement.

The most popular post was about Xie Sui.

[ Guess who the freshmen representative for the new year’s orientation meeting is? ]

Original poster: Hehehehehehe

Hehehehahahahahahaha

1L: Laozi is wiping off drool (paper towel)

2L: You don’t have to say it!!! I can guess, too!!!!

7L: 6L fellow sister, wake up and face reality. When did he ever just have you?

……

At the end of the day, it was still a student forum and not a gathering place for girls. With this kind of forum title and popularity, straight men soon began to click in.

254L: Do you still need to guess this? Isn’t the person who speaks every year the number one in the grade? [nosepick][nosepick]

255L: Tsk, what kind of attitude is that? Lost heart?

256L: Everyone has two eyes and a nose. I really don’t feel that Xie Sui is that much more handsome than I am [spread hands][spread hands]

The 256th poster caused a carnival all on his own.

257L: Pure passerby. I really don’t feel that Xie Sui is handsome.

258L: Pure passerby +1. I feel that Xie Sui’s looks are so-so, just very ordinary.

259L: Pure passerby +2. Am I the only one who thinks he’s weak? Female aesthetics is really strange. I have an eight pack, do you guys want to see?

Song Yu’s eyelids drooped and there was a sneer on his lips. He was already bored, so he simply logged in and added a sentence following the current pattern.

260L Your Husband, Brother Yu: Pure handsome brother, I feel that Xie Sui and I are on the same level.

“……”

There was a long silence.

The forums exploded again.

1261L: ???!!

1262L: My god?!! Have I gone blind?! Did I actually see Brother Yu’s reply in a thread about God Xie?!

1263L: Hahahahahaha ‘Pure handsome brother’, ‘same level’ hahahahahaha

1264L: Brother Yu, what benefits do you gain from making me laugh to death?

1265L: Focus on the key point ahhhh, what are you guys doing!! Brother Yu said that he’s on the same level as God Xie ahhhh, husband, I just knew that you wouldn’t disappoint me.

1266L: Brother Yu has revealed his own handsome brother identity and praised God Xie. Haters, go and take a rest, God Xie’s godly level appearance doesn’t need to be explained [slight smile]

1267L: I’m dying from laughter, can he even self-reveal his own handsome brother identity?

Song Yu was too lazy to read the later posts and poked out of the thread.

He went to look at other posts.

According to his own identity as one who brought the bloody rain with him.

There would definitely be a lot of idiots who jumped out to fight.

He was just bored and idle, so he helped say something for Xie Sui’s sake. He didn’t want to pay any attention to those haters.

Perhaps because he’d appeared in Xie Sui’s thread once, but many new posts appeared in the forum instantly, asking him questions by name, asking him about his relationship with Xie Sui, asking him to share photos, or expressing their love for him or hurling abuse at him.

Song Yu picked some out and replied to them based on his mood.

[ A certain person named Yu, what a fool! Don’t think that you’re so damned powerful and amazing. In fact, in other people’s eyes, you’re nothing at all. ]

3L Your Husband, Brother Yu: ? Don’t talk nonsense, could it be that I’m not a troll in other people’s eyes.

4L: Hahahahahahahahaha

51L: Hahahahahaha I laughed so hard my cell phone almost flew out to hit the class teacher!

Most of those who were clamoring were girls.

[ Brother Yu Brother Yu! You’re particularly annoying today, you know? Annoyingly likeable [shy][shy] ]

[ Where’s the handsome brother? Let’s see the photos ]

[ Hubby, hubby!! I want to confess my feelings to you!!! ]

Regarding these types of posts, Song Yu––

Ignored. them. all.

He was now solidly labelled as a ‘cruel and ruthless scum man’.

His finger flicked up. Song Yu clicked into the most popular thread once again.

He ignored the bloodbath that was centered around his presence, his eyes skimming down, then suddenly growing cold.

His gaze landed on a very humble post.

It was submerged in the tide of replies, but the name of the poster attracted his attention.

[ Long Live Brother Ci: A group of naive supporters. It’s still uncertain who the freshman representative will be. ]

Song Yu’s eyes were cold.

Not long after, Xie Sui came out with his speech in hand. However, there was a teacher standing beside him speaking to him bitterly about something.

Xie Sui leaned against the wall, dropped his gaze, and listened quietly. He didn’t say a word.

Standing beside Song Yu was a member of the student union who was in charge of organizing the event. She was a girl with a double ponytail, and she was so angry that she almost squeezed the balloon in her hand into exploding, “What is this! The standard for the student representative has always been the one who takes first place in the high school entrance examination. What do they mean by suddenly changing people.”

Song Yu turned off his cell phone and stuffed it into his pocket.

…Wang Ci.

At this time, a sharp and noisy sound came out from the entrance, “Tooot––” It was the kind of whistle that primary school students liked to buy. They sold for fifty cents each at the small store at the entrance to the school.

It was Ma Xiaoding and his younger brothers. They each held one, bringing it up to their mouths to blow.

They blew the whistles as they walked and held a pile of glowing things in their hands.

They caught everyone’s attention along the way.

Ma Xiaoding’s eyes were sharp, and he found Song Yu right away. He whistled twice happily, “Toot–– Toot––”, then, he took it down and waved, yelling loudly, “Brother Yu! Brother Yu! Look at me! We’re back with a full load!”

Song Yu: “……”

Damn it! Laozi doesn’t know you!

He walked forward, heading towards Xie Sui.

The teacher was still talking himself dry, explaining the reasons to Xie Sui, when he suddenly saw Song Yu coming over. The careful speech he’d prepared stuck in his throat, and his thoughts jammed for a second.

“Teacher, I heard that you plan to change people?”

Song Yu got straight to the point and didn’t dance around the topic.

The teacher whose brain had just jammed was even more confused and he used his sleeve to wipe at his sweat. He genuinely appreciated Xie Sui; otherwise, he wouldn’t have wasted so many words just to explain things to him.

It was just that this sudden change had been arranged by his superiors, and there was nothing he could do. Not to mention the Jing City Wang Family, even just the headmaster wasn’t someone he could afford to offend.

“This… originally, it should be Student Xie Sui going up on stage, but after thinking about it, Student Wang Ci might be more suitable to go up and make a speech. The most important thing for the ceremony for the new school year is to give students a good start… Student Wang Ci has been to many places, and met many people and seen many things. He can build up the atmosphere without having to say all those official words. I…”

The teacher was stumbling and faltering under Song Yu’s gaze, and his voice gradually grew weak.

The door opened, and a well-dressed Wang Ci stepped out of the dressing room. His greasy face became even more disgusting after applying makeup, and he was wearing a suit with a bow tie. When he saw Song Yu and Xie Sui, he smiled meaningfully. He had a brand new speech in his hand, and his eyes were full of arrogant amusement, “What are you guys talking about here?”

The teacher was miserable.

Wang Ci’s eyes bypassed Song Yu and landed on Xie Sui. His small eyes contained disgusting and unclear intent, and the flesh on his face was pinched together in a false smile.

“There’s nothing I can do about such a sudden change in people. Isn’t it arranged by the school? But, you’ve been preparing for so long––how about we go up on stage together?”

Ma Xiaoding and the others had already crowded around them.

They were stunned when they saw this scene. What was going on? Why had Brother Yu run into this fatty again?

It was just that nobody present paid any attention to Wang Ci.

Song Yu glanced indifferently at Wang Ci, who was squeezed into a western style suit. Then, he looked at the teacher and chuckled ambivalently, “Does the school really want him to go up on stage?”

The teacher quietly wiped away his sweat and said helplessly, “Yes, the school must have their reason for making these arrangements. Student Wang Ci will certainly be able to say some new and interesting things.”

“Yeah.” Song Yu took out his cell phone and dialed a number. He smiled briefly, “For example, how to get rich raising pigs?”

“……”

Ruthless.
