Chapter 4 – The World Tree Sapling

The power of the laws relentlessly clashed and smashed into each other, like two armies fiercely battling each other. The side with the weaker commander, the weaker logistics, and the fewer troops will end up losing miserably!

In this battle, the Yuan World was obviously stronger. After all, the vortex world seed’s power had been used to give birth to the Heavenly Dao’s consciousness, leaving its remaining power insufficient. It couldn’t utilize its laws to effectively counterattack.

The vortex world seed was like a scattered bunch of militia, only able to passively defend against Mu Yuan’s attacks, unable to strike back.

As a competent commander, Mu Yuan commanded the Yuan World’s laws to flood into the vortex world seed. They crashed into the vortex world seed like a sharp blade, slicing the laws of the vortex world seed into dozens of parts. Unable to regroup, the vortex seed’s laws were fighting against the Yuan World’s laws, scattered. Divide and conquer! 

Then, Mu Yuan controlled the remaining laws to erode the vortex world seed’s Origin Energy and laws. They continued to erode, step by step. 

Whenever a part of the vortex world seed’s Origin Energy was swallowed and absorbed by Mu Yuan, the vortex world seed would make a shrill scream, seeming to know that it was only waiting for its inevitable demise. It was powerless to resist. It could only pour all its energy into birthing the Heavenly Dao’s consciousness at the fastest possible speed. Only that may turn the situation around. 

Mu Yuan absorbed the Origin Energy of the vortex world seed. With the unceasing drain of its Origin Energy, the vortex world seed’s resistance gradually weakened. It had to take drastic action and give up large chunks of itself in order to delay time. It needed the Heavenly Dao’s consciousness to be born as soon as possible.

10%, 20%, 30%… finally, after an extended period of time, numerous continents of the vortex world seed were absorbed and assimilated by the Yuan World. It was now the Yuan World’s territory. 90% of the vortex world seed’s outside Origin Energy had been absorbed!

The world’s Origin Energy was the foundation of the world. It was also a tool to sustain the Heavenly Dao’s energy. As long as Origin Energy exists, the world will have endless possibilities. Origin Energy was directly correlated with the strength of the Heavenly Dao.

Mu Yuan arrived at the core of the vortex world seed. The Origin Dimension was supposedly located here. This was the last portion of the vortex world seed, and it also was where the newly born Heavenly Dao was.

Mu Yuan looked at the core of the vortex world seed and said, “Here at last. Once I absorb the vortex world seed’s last source, it’ll be time for me to advance the Yuan World.”

“Come out, the vortex world seed’s Heavenly Dao!”

Mu Yuan stretched out his arm. Countless golden globs of gold, containing the Law of Metal, transformed into spears above his head. Mu Yuan pointed forward, the spears shook, and then the spears darted forward at extreme speeds, piercing through the space. Cracks after cracks riddled the now fragile dimension of the vortex world seed. It was like a beast swallowing a person, horrifying. However, the cracks suddenly subsided.

Boom!

Violent energy burst out of the Origin Dimension that was less than 10 meters in size. A ripple of energy spread to the surroundings, shattering rocks, filling the sky with smoke and dust. 

The Origin Dimension of the vortex world seed had finally revealed itself. The onslaught of attacks drew it out. Two illusory figures appeared and hovered in space.

Dong! Dong! Dong! Mu Yuan’s pupils shrink, his heart beating violently. This feeling came from the depths of his soul. It was a desire that ran through his veins.

The vortex world seed’s Heavenly Dao was one of the two illusory figures. It appeared that the vortex world seed had managed to birth a Heavenly Dao’s consciousness. 

It was similar to a cluster of transparent gas, constantly shifting into different appearances, exuding the aura of the Heavenly Dao. Even though it was a little eroded, it was still a supreme being.

The other figure was… a World Tree sapling!

This World Tree sapling was around a third of a meter in height and was covered in an intense aura of vitality, exuding a sense of purity.

Only nine crystal clear leaves hang on the World Tree sapling’s branches. It was the World Tree’s leaves. Each leaf appeared to carry the heavy pressure of a world, and every branch seemed to connect to a world. 

The World Tree was engulfed in a peculiar aura. This was the power of the laws, no, this was the embodiment of “Dao.”

The World Tree could stabilize the world, smoothly integrate laws, and transform the void essence into Origin Energy.

The World Tree had the ability to find the spatial coordinates of other worlds.

The World Tree could attract other world seeds in the void.

The World Tree’s help to one’s world was unimaginable. Thus, its ability to attract other worlds was incredibly effective.

Although the fame of the World Tree was widely known in all the realms, its name was different. It was called the Tree of Life, the Sacred Tree, the Tree of Creation, etc..

Mu Yuan had found the World Tree sapling here. His heavenly luck was on full display.

His eyes full of excitement, Mu Yuan stared at the world sapling. “So that’s how it is. The world seeds formed a vortex because of the attraction of the World Tree sapling. It is because of the World Tree sapling that the vortex world seed has advanced to this level. But now, this sapling is mine!” Mu Yuan murmured, “Vortex world seed, you will soon become a part of me.”

Having said that, Mu Yuan no longer hesitated and controlled the Yuan World’s laws to pounce on the vortex world seed’s Heavenly Dao. At the same time, he joined in on the fray.

The vortex world seed’s Heavenly Dao resolved itself. It was now in a life-and-death moment, and with no retreat left, it could only fight to the death. 

Boom! Due to the huge power disparity, the vortex world seed’s Heavenly Dao was instantly ripped to shreds. Screaming wildly, the vortex world seed’s Heavenly Dao was gradually devoured by Mu Yuan…

Whew! Mu Yuan let out a sigh of relief and smiled. “It’s worthy of being called a Heavenly Dao. Although I already devoured 90% of this world’s outside Origin Energy, I didn’t think that it still would have such a large amount of Origin Energy.”

The Heavenly Dao’s Origin energy was no less than the outside Origin Energy. Mu Yuan clearly understood that when he was controlling the Yuan World to collide into the vortex world seed, the vortex world seed was desperately trying to gather its Origin Energy to birth a Heavenly Dao. However, it still couldn’t escape its fate of being devoured…

The amount of Origin Energy in the vortex world seed exceeded the Yuan World. If the vortex world seed already had a Heavenly Dao, it would be impossible to know who would devour who.

Mu Yuan stretched out a hand, and the World Tree sapling instantly came to his side, appearing to feel his Heavenly Dao breath. A few leaves slightly swayed.

With a smile on his face, Mu Yuan sent the World Tree sapling to his Origin Dimension. Its roots began digging into the void.

After doing all this, Mu Yuan gazed at the endless void outside the world, and said softly, “Next, I will create a true world. I will create living beings!”

After devouring the vortex world seed, the Yuan World had expanded to 15,000 kilometers and had a sky that was 100,000 feet tall and earth that was 100,000 feet deep. 

Looking down at a height of 90,000 feet, Mu Yuan saw the lifeless and desolate Yuan World. Although the current Yuan World’s environment was several times better than it was at the beginning, it was still not a world suitable for living creatures to survive and grow. The next step was to upgrade the Yuan World to a Minor World, enabling it to sustain the existence of living beings.

A ray of light scattered. Mu Yuan wore an ancient and noble moon-white robe embroidered with the celestial bodies and the heavens. He sat on his supreme throne. Behind him, a 300 meter in size wheel of life appeared.

Mu Yuan’s whole body emitted a heavenly might. It was noble, majestic, ancient, supreme, and mighty. It engulfed the entire Yuan World.

With a solemn face, Mu Yuan said, “Yin, Yang, the Five Laws return to your place. The cycle is complete – let the world advance!”

Hum! A formless ripple spread from the Heavenly Dao Dimension to the entire world. Wherever it passed, the laws of Yin, Yang, and the Five Laws performed their duties, forming a complete cycle of heaven and earth energy. Once the ripples covered the world, it did not linger. Instead, it passed through the crystal sphere and seeped into the void.

Then, a cosmic and unfathomable consciousness enveloped the entire Yuan World, and under this crushing consciousness, not even a Heavenly Dao could resist!

“Pass!”

A sentence that only Mu Yuan could hear echoed in his ears. The boundless void essence around the Yuan World’s crystal sphere violently churned and rushed towards the Yuan World. 

But, just when the void essence was about to hit the crystal wall, the formless ripples nullified the violent force of the void essence, making the once violent void essence unable to cause any damage to the crystal sphere. 

The void essence was spontaneously decomposed into matter, energy, and laws.

The inexhaustible matter rapidly expanded the volume of the Yuan World, and the earth continuously expanded in all directions, making the Yuan World’s diameter around 25,000 km. The sky heightened. The earth thickened.

The energy was transformed into Origin Energy for the Yuan World, and at the same time, the laws grew several times stronger.

The streams of benign void essence turned into a river that flowed into the Origin Dimension, transforming into countless drops of Origin Energy, forming a pool of  Origin Energy. 

Feeling the void essence, the World Tree Sapling shook slightly, and it began inhaling the void essence into its body. The void essence was treated as nourishment. 

As a Heavenly Dao, Mu Yuan naturally felt the tremendous changes in the Yuan World. This change also increased the power and authority of the Heavenly Dao. He suppressed the joy in his heart and declared, “Now it’s time to transform this Minor World. I will be this world’s creator!”
