Chapter 8 – Intelligent Races (2)

The humanoid male figure silently stood on the ground, his eyes closed, exuding a thick aura of vitality. But, he still lacked spirituality, which gave him a sense of stiffness.

With a point of a finger, Mu Yuan sent a thread of Origin Energy through the man’s head. The man’s soul began to transform. Like completing the last stroke of a painting, the man’s spiritual aura trembled, flowing like waves. His eyelids began trembling.

“It’s still a little short of the desired result.”

Mu Yuan glanced at the figure in front of him and stretched out a hand, invoking nature: the clear water droplets from the waterfall, Water; the pure soil from the earth, Earth; the crackling flames from the lightning, Fire; the crisp leaves from the forest, Wood; the ores from the subterranean, Metal.

The materials, which represented the Five Laws, encircled the man. After their purest powers were extracted, they began pouring into his body, merging and congregating with the five main organs.

Feeling the smooth integration between the man’s body and the Five Laws, Mu Yuan nodded in satisfaction.

“This body complies with the harmony between the Five Laws. It shall be named the All Spirit Body.”

“When there is yang, there must be yin. The balance between yin and yang brings about the prosperity of a species.”

Mu Yuan, similar to creating a man, once again created a humanoid body. Of course, this time it was a woman.

Like the man’s body, Mu Yuan meticulously sculpted the woman. Her face was as beautiful as an angel, she was captivating.

Her skin was as white as snow and as smooth as jade. Once again following the golden ratio perfectly, she was among the most beautiful living beings in the world.

After that, Mu Yuan, using the first two as a reference, created 3,000 humans, half male and half female.

“In the name of the Heavenly Dao, I hereby establish humanity!”

Humanity! Mu Yuan had created humans. After all, his previous life was a human, and he was naturally the most familiar with humans.

For his first intelligent species, it was a no-brainer to create humans. As for the other races that he had heard about from his previous life’s novels (webnovels), he wasn’t that familiar with them, knowing only their external descriptions. What was inside them? How would he create them?

Even the slightest mistake during the creation process would lead to failure.

Therefore, Mu Yuan created the human race first. Only then would he begin creating other intelligent races based on their descriptions from the novels.

The newly-born humans opened their eyes. Like newborn babies, they curiously scanned their surroundings, seeing animals and other humans. All of them had a single word in their minds. They were – Human!

Muddled, their eyes began to gather around a figure who stood in the vacuum. He created them. He was their god.

“ Go, go explore the world, pave the way for the glory of humanity!”

Mu Yuan’s figure became transparent, gradually fading. His sentence resounded in the minds of the 3,000 humans.

Under the leadership of the first two humans Yuan and Xi, the humans explored the valley step by step, enriching their knowledge and experience. They began to reproduce and multiply without issues.

After monitoring for a few days, Mu Yuan ascertained that these humans, although barely, were able to pick fruits, find shelter in caves, and survive. They wouldn’t be wiped out by a sudden beast attack. He stopped monitoring them and turned his attention towards other matters.

He wanted to create other intelligent races.

In the northern part of the continent, Mu Yuan began fusing the bloodline of humans with the bloodline of various beasts. Basing it off the structure of a human, Mu Yuan, with plenty of trial and error, finally managed to create a race with a body of a human and a head of a beast. He began distributing these beastmen throughout the north.

South of the continent was the Sea of Stars, a sea area spreading across thousands of islands.

Mu Yuan created all sorts of intelligent aquatic races in the Sea of Stars: the merfolk race, the shark race, the shrimp race, the crab race, etc..

Deriving new races with a combination of the structure of the human body and his own inspiration, Mu Yuan created a plethora of different intelligent races. One after another, intelligent creatures gradually spread over the Yuan World.

There were harpies and griffins that soared in the Yuan World’s sky.

According to the ancient records of Greece,  Mu Yuan created the giants, beings of extraordinary strength that were nearly 30 meters high.

There were also the elves from the legends who worshipped nature. In addition, he created, this time drawing from his imagination, the Tattoo tribe. Their bodies were completely engulfed in mystical tattoos.

There were elemental races: The ice race that resided in the Ice Abyss; the fire and lava race that resided in the scorching magma; the golem race that resided in the earth; the crystal race that were made from resplendent crystals…

Each race possessed different characteristics, each having its own disadvantages and advantages. For example, the giants’ bodies were strong and sturdy, but their fertility rate was extremely low. When facing the smaller races, they would often be put in situations where it was 1 vs 1000 or even 1 vs 10,000.

Another example was the elemental races, who had the innate ability to manipulate the elements. They possessed astounding lethality, but they were unable to leave their region without facing severe drawbacks, restrained by the lack of their element.

There was a fine balance between all the races. Mu Yuan did not want a tyrant race taking over the world, suppressing all the others.

Each of the intelligent races shall be given a temporary safe haven with a radius of 10 miles. For 10 years, no wild beasts are allowed to enter it,

Mu Yuan created a few thousand of each of the races and then placed them in a relatively safe, prosperous area, letting them survive and reproduce without worry for 10 years. In this regard, Mu Yuan treated the races equally.

If a race couldn’t adapt to the dangers of the Yuan World’s environment 10 years later, oblivious to how to deal with the dangers, Mu Yuan would just let the race die out naturally, not helping it reproduce.

“ I’ve already created an environment for you to live in. Your future is now in your hands. If your race is annihilated, then so be it.”

In a valley, crude thatched huts littered both sides of a river. A thick, dense forest was the best cover for this small tribe.

Dozens of children frolicked around the river, playing, laughing. Some wore grass skirts woven from branches and leaves, while others wore animal skin that covered up their important parts.

After all, after many years of living, the people of this tribe were ashamed of being naked. Naturally, they would look for some “clothes.”

*Rustle* *Rustle* *Rustle*

A rustling sound came from the forest. Suddenly, more than a dozen strong men emerged from the forest, carrying bison, pheasants, hares, etc… The last four people were even carrying a tiger.

This was one of the tribe’s hunting teams.

Seeing the hunting team return loaded with prey, the frolicking children lit up with glee, rushing towards the hunting team while eagerly uttering strange words.

The woman and elderly hurriedly came over to help the hunting team prepare the meat. Flaying, deboning, and chopping, they took advantage of every part of the animal.

The children surrounded the tiger. Their curious eyes looked at the so-called king of the jungle. Occasionally, they would touch its stiff, frigid body with their fingers.

They listened to the hunting team enthusiastically recount their hunting journey. Their amped-up faces flushed with excitement.

The sun set. Dusk arrived. A yellowish-red light wrapped around the land.

As the curtain of night began to fall, one by the one, the tribe’s hunting teams returned – carrying lots of prey and … a few mutilated human corpses. Some only held pieces of limbs or flesh of their fellow hunters.

This was the savageness of life. It was cruel. Every living being clawed its way through the land, struggling to survive, all for the sake of its survival.
