Chapter 7 – Intelligent Races (1)

Translator: BipBop

In a world thriving with life, plants were just dull. Although the plants flourished in the Yuan World, blossoming and budding, thriving, it was devoid of the thing that constituted the feeling of vitality, the feeling of movement

As a result, the addition of animals was a necessity. It added a layer of diversity and complexity to the Yuan World’s ecosystem, increasing the variability.

Mu Yuan was once again at the top of Tongtian Mountain. Incessant blasts of frigid wind attempted to pummel him, but once the wind was within 10 meters of him, it transformed into a gentle breeze, only slightly ruffling Mu Yuan’s clothes.

Surrounded by a sea of rich spiritual energy, which originated from using 1,000 drops of Origin Energy, Mu Yuan’s mind flashed with the knowledge of countless bloodlines. In an instant, a complete plan was formed.

Mu Yuan smiled slightly. His Heavenly Dao’s consciousness moved. A cell structure that was almost identical to the plant cell gradually began to take shape. The plant’s genetic chain and this cell’s genetic chain, however, were worlds apart.

Utilizing the previous experiences of creating a plant cell, Mu Yuan began to gradually perfect the animal cell.

“Hu.” Mu Yuan let out a sigh of relief, nodding in satisfaction. He had felt a tiny creature crawling towards him.

The sun rose in the east and set in the west. In a blink of an eye, three days and four nights passed. During this period of time, Mu Yuan had created an assortment of animals and dispersed them in environments that were suitable for their survival.

The types of animals he created ranged from all sizes: insects, herbivores, carnivores, birds, reptiles, marine animals…

a praying mantis, a three-legged crow, a three-eyed rabbit, a winged tiger, rainbow butterflies, two-headed pythons, scaly wolves, etc..

Regardless if it was a creature that Mu Yuan knew or imagined, he created them. Of course, the world’s Origin Energy was also being consumed in the process.

Mu Yuan had originally wanted to create the creatures that were once the overlords of Earth eons ago – the dinosaurs. But, after some thorough thinking, he came to a regrettable decision. The Yuan World’s ecosystem wasn’t perfect. If gargantuan dinosaurs started terrorizing the world, gobbling everything in their wake, fueled by their humongous appetites, the entire world’s ecosystem would probably be destroyed in just a few days.

Currently, the dinosaur idea was just a waste of Origin Energy. It had to be put on hold.

As such, Mu Yuan was forced to create smaller, more basic animals for the sake of the ecosystem’s harmony. While he constantly created, the Yuan World constantly improved and stabilized!

In the process of creating life, Mu Yuan was enamored from start to end. He saw birth. He saw growth. He saw life.

While Mu Yuan was chucking various animals into the world, the former animals had gradually begun adapting to the world. Every creature strived to survive, so they could spread their inheritance, their genes.

Plants absorbed the land for nutrients, thriving; herbivores scoured the land for food, reproducing; carnivores hid in the land’s darkness, waiting for their prey.

Mu Yuan sat on a throne and overlooked the entire Yuan World. His divine consciousness wrapped around the world at all times.

All the living beings in the world were scrutinized. From time to time, a species would be unable to adapt to its environment and die off, becoming extinct.

Just as the species was approaching its end, Mu Yuan would gather its bloodline and genetic information. Then, he would create it again, and according to its characteristics, place said species into another environment that was more suitable for its survival, letting it hopefully thrive.

At the same time, he would produce new organisms. They would join the ecosystem, increasing the biodiversity and strengthening the ecosystem as a whole. In addition, Mu Yuan would also add mutated bloodlines, which were produced from an animal adapting to its environment, to his pool of bloodline knowledge.

Death was quite common. Every moment, numerous animals would die, producing souls that were invisible to the mortal eye. These souls would emit energy that the Yuan World absorbed, which caused the Yuan World’s Origin Energy to slowly increase!

This discovery made Mu Yuan thrilled. However, he also took the time to find out the reason why this happened.

It turned out, once living beings reached the end of their journey of life, their souls would actually absorb a mysterious power, causing their souls to strengthen. Mu Yuan sought out the origins of such a mysterious power and realized that the power came directly from the void.

The Origin Energy of the Yuan World had been completely expended. The crystal sphere, after absorbing and transforming the void essence, could only produce a few drops of Origin Energy each day.

The Origin Energy that was gained through the death of living beings was completely out of Mu Yuan’s expectations. Originally wanting to produce life so he wouldn’t be lonely, Mu Yuan had unexpectedly paved the way for a new source of Origin Energy!

Thousands of years later, Mu Yuan directed his consciousness towards the Yuan World. The Yuan World had formed a complete biosphere, vibrant, bustling with creatures.

Every component of the ecosystem was stable. No genocide in sight. Even if a species did become extinct, there would be a myriad of different species to replace it, allowing the ecosystem to be uninfluenced. There was already no need for him to constantly check up on it. He should just let nature take its course.

In a valley that was in the eastern part of the continent, a majestic waterfall resembled a shining silver ribbon inlaid with green mountains. It was dazzling. It was striking.

A deafening roar resounded through the clouds. The waterfall began to stir up. It was like the waterfall was saving up its energy for this moment. It cascaded down the mountains and blasted the surrounding rocks in its wake.

Whipped up, the gushing water reflected a blinding light. A picturesque rainbow materialized in the sky. The splashing water dampened the grass and swept away the dust.

Several spotted deer were drinking from a river, which originated from this waterfall. From time to time, they would warily look around. They noticed the rustling wind and moving grass; they prepared to run.

In a moon-white robe, a figure walked out of the bushes. It was Mu Yuan. The deers, which were drinking water, started and curiously sized up this unknown “animal.”

Mu Yuan’s eyes aloof and heartless, his intense divinity suppressed the beings he created. Even so, upon leaking a sliver of Heavenly Dao aura, all the animals instantly felt an inexplicable sense of warmth and familiarity. It was as if they had returned to their mother’s embrace. The animals even wanted to get closer to Mu Yuan, so they could feel his aura at a closer range.

After all, Mu Yuan, a Heavenly Dao, was the origin of life. All those which resided in the Yuan World, were created by him. His leaking aura naturally made the animals feel familiarity.

“Leave. For 10 years, no one is allowed to enter this place.”

A dull voice echoed across the plane, awakening the animals from their reverie. With howls and roars, the animals reluctantly obeyed Mu Yuan’s orders and headed out the valley.

In a flash, the valley fell silent. Mu Yuan looked with satisfaction at the valley. “With clear water, this place clearly possesses the spirit of beauty. It’s certainly a great place for nurturing. Not only does this place have lots of food and water, there are also plenty of minerals underground. I’ve decided. This shall be the place.”

Mu Yuan extended his hand and gestured. A cell invisible to the mortal eye appeared on his palm. A drop of Origin Energy flowed through it.

This grand energy caused the cell to bulge. The cell expanded to its limits as if it would explode in the next instant.

However, under Mu Yuan’s precise control, just as it was about to explode, it divided into two, becoming two cells; then it divided into four, then eight…

An innumerable amount of cells began to merge, forming organs, nerves, skin, flesh, blood, bone marrow, facial features, etc…

With full concentration, Mu Yuan meticulously sculpted. Eventually, a nude figure that was 1.8 meters in height appeared. A young man’s figure had appeared in the valley. His body followed the golden ratio.
