Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband

Chapter 43: What A Rude Child!

Much like his brother, Lu Lijun didn't say much. In reality, his behavior was warm towards Jiang Yang but exceptionally cold to Jiang Yuyan.

"You two looked adorable while dancing," Lu Lian said when the other Lu siblings joined in.

"You're right," Wang Shu agreed.

"I really like to see couples dancing intimately," Lu Bao said with a wink to Lu Lian and Wang Shu.

Jiang Yuyan coughed and looked at Lu Qiang, whose expression had not changed in the slightest.

"I like it too," Jiang Yang said enthusiastically, siding with Lu Bao.

"Count me in, as well. This was the first time brother Lu Qiang danced with someone," Wang Peng informed.

Feeling surprised with what she had heard, Jiang Yuyan looked at Lu Qiang, only to find him nod at her as if telling her it was the truth. She was a first-ever woman he had asked to dance with him.

While everyone was busy teasing them, Lu Lijun was not happy in the least.

"Did you really dance with her, elder brother?" Lu Lijun asked with an unhappy expression.

"Yes." Lu Qiang nodded, looking at his brother but commenting no further.

The little guy shifted his gaze from his elder brother to Jiang Yuyan and kept staring at her with an unhappy face. He held his brother's hand as if warning her to stay away from his brother.

Jiang Yuyan clearly understood what his gaze meant and wanted to shout - I am not interested in your brother even a bit, so you can keep him with you, but considering that he was just a kid, Jiang Yuyan ignored his glare.

"Please excuse us," she said, holding her brother's hand and dragging him away.

They stopped at a distance from the Lus.

"What a rude child!" She frowned.

"Who? Lu Lijun?" Jiang Yang asked.

She nodded.

"From what I see, he is just possessive of his older brother," he said, looking at their direction. Jiang Yang had noticed the young boy's cold behavior to Jiang Yuyan, as well.

"Whatever," she muttered.

"Did you enjoy?" he tried to change the topic, thinking she was upset by Lu Lijun's behavior.

"What?" she asked annoyingly.

"Being the dance partner of the most awaited man in this party," her brother replied only to hear his sister cursing.

"My a*s!"

She was outraged, but she couldn't understand why. Her mind was a mess for an unknown reason, and she didn't like it.

"Careful of what you say, Yuyan. No one will ask you for a dance if they hear you. This is China, not America," Jiang Yang warned.

"I don't care," she said petulantly.

Jiang Yang countered, "But I care! It's time for you to get a boyfriend." He paused. "By the way, I liked him," he said, pointing at Lu Qiang.

"Then make him your boyfriend," she said, annoyed.

"Unfortunately, I am straight, and he is interested in you. The way he held you as you danced made me shiver, making me feel lonely for the first time," Jiang Yang said, looking dreamy.

While the siblings chatted, Lu Qiang's gaze got pulled to her direction. She, too, unknowingly looked at him and felt a slight discomfort as their sights met.

Just then, Jiang Peizhi and Mo Ruolan came to them with a guest at the party. He was a very famous cardiologist from the same hospital where Jiang Yang was about to start his practice.

Four of them were busy in their conversation while Jiang Yuyan excused herself and walked towards the door leading to the lawn outside of the party hall as she wanted to get some fresh air and relax. This crowded place full of unknown people was making her feel uncomfortable.

When Jiang Yuyan reached the lawn, she saw a small gazebo, which was quite far from the hall, but it was brightly illuminated. As she stepped towards it, she saw a man in a black suit, standing under the tree. He was perpendicularly opposite to it.

She observed the man between her each step and noticed he was smoking. He was resting on the tree trunk with one leg bent to rest on the lower part of it. She couldn't see his face from a distance but could see him pull out another cigarette from the packet. He held it in his mouth and lit it up, making her frown and want to ignore the man.

Jiang Yuyan reached the small gazebo in a few minutes. It was beautifully decorated and allowed about five to six people to be there at once, but there was no seating arrangement. It had metal railings high enough to reach one's waist and dyed in glittery paint.

She walked inside and stood facing in the opposite direction of the hall while holding the railing. She didn't know what exactly she had felt inside the hall, but she felt affected because of him.

Her mind filled with chaotic thoughts as she tried to figure out her feelings. It was the first time so many 'whys' had popped into her mind at the same time, leaving her bewildered.

Why couldn't she push him away wholeheartedly? Why was she so nervous when she was close to him? Why did she like it when he touched her? Why couldn't she be angry at him for teasing her? Why couldn't she avoid his gaze? Why did she have to surrender to his words?

She was frustrated and angry and closed her eyes as she started to press her temples to get rid of this headache.

Taking a deep breath a few more times to calm herself down, she looked at her right side, in the direction of the man, only to be surprised to find him gone.

Ignoring, she looked at the artificial waterfall, which was a few meters away from where she was standing. The calming sound of the flowing water helped her a little, and she stood there with her eyes closed, listening to the sound.

In a while, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching her and opened her eyes only to realize someone was standing right behind her.
