It has been a week since.

Maynard had since frequented our manor every day to do the weeding.

Goodness you, Maynard—this prince seems to have grown deeply fond of it. I couldn’t help but be in awe of him as he visits tirelessly to pluck out the weeds in silence while keeping the three-step rule the entire time.

Thanks to his great efforts, you could hardly find a weed within our manor’s courtyard.

Mr. Gardener said that he will do flower transplanting after weeding, and naturally, I offered to help in that too. Likewise, Maynard also voiced his intention to help with a pleasant smile on his face.

Contrary to him, Firman has too many frowns to show that whole week.

He barely smiles whenever we eat together and no longer asks about my everyday circumstances too.

I thought maybe he does not fancy that I was together with Maynard, but then, not only does the prince come of his own accord regardless of my will, I also thought the prince may do as he pleases if it’s only weeding—Ugh, I guess the fault lies in me with this one.

I was lamenting whether I should apologize to Firman for allowing Maynard’s visits, when suddenly—

‘Does her ladyship have plans for tomorrow?’

The question that followed the dropping of the fork and knife had put me all flustered.

‘Oh, tomorrow? I do not have anything in particular—’

Normally, I would spend the day talking to Maynard while plucking the weeds, which is not so much of a plan.

‘The church will have a bazaar tomorrow. Would you like to come?’

Bazaar? Would I like to come to Bazaar, he asks?

‘Am I to come together with Firman?’

‘Would her ladyship dislike it if so?’

‘I would not!’

I abruptly responded with sparkling eyes. It comes without saying but isn’t he basically asking me for a date?

It’s been two weeks since we’ve been together!

Selma! I did it!

—Or so I thought as I turned my gaze to Selma, but only lukewarm eyes were her response. Mhm? I ought to contain my excitement to avoid nosebleed, you say? Fret not, Selma, I know that!

‘Very well. We shall go together tomorrow.’

As I nodded to him in high spirits, Firman smiled back at me. He has been ill-humored as of late so that small chuckle of him makes me really happy.

Oh heavens, tomorrow comes our first date. I wonder what should I wear?

The next day, I was in high spirits thinking that I should use the opportunity to bewitch Firman, but all those enthusiasms sunk before any plans even sailed.

Selma confiscated my chosen accoutre, chidingly asking why was I planning to go to a church bazaar in a dress with a widely exposed neckline, then she had me put on a high collared bright green dress.

It was cute but hardly amorous to my liking.

I wanted a dress that would give a man the urge to hold me on sight. How disappointing.

Selma skillfully put my honey-colored hair into a half-up style, putting them all together with an amethyst ornament that shared my eye color.

I put on low heel shoes because the bazaar would involve a lot of walking. It will make me look even shorter than I already am, but I don’t have a choice.

I also told Maynard that there won’t be any weeding today because I am heading to the bazaar.

Descending to the entranceway after my preparations, Firman was there waiting for me.

He was not wearing his knight uniform today and merely donned a simple black shirt and dark grey trousers. Goodness, he looks so dreamy. I cannot get enough of those muscles visibly swelling over his shirt.

‘Lady listen. You are to refrain from frolicking too much and getting carried away. Do you understand?’

‘Of course, Of course..’

Selma, who will stay at home, seems to be worried.

Don’t worry, I am a can-do lady after all! I can beguile my innocence with my eyes closed! I did not become that first prince’s fiancee for eighteen years for nothing. I will win this battle!

‘We’re heading now!’

Assisted up to the coach by Firman, I waved my hands towards Selma and headed for the fun date that awaits.
