“Jin-Jin, you’re alone today? That’s quite rare.” 

Qin Chuxuan’s eyes swept around Yao Jin. She was not used to seeing Yao Jin without a crowd around her. 

Jin Siming lowered her head on the other side and her hand tightened around her chopsticks as her body stiffened unnaturally. She subtly turned her attention to Yao Jin who had just sat down next to her. 

She didn’t expect to bump into Yao Jin in the cafeteria, much less for her to actually approach her. 

“That’s because….” Yao Jin glanced sideways at Jin Siming and smiled brightly, “I saw her staring at me, so I came over. Could it be that you weren’t asking for me to come over?”

This was the girl Jin Siming had spotted at the central square earlier. The girl had gotten off the Deshang bus and the two yellow-haired guys behind her also looked quite familiar. In fact, they were one of the few people who ambushed her and Yao Jin at the school gate last time.

The spiky-haired hooligan shrank back in fright at her glare, but then he noticed Jin Siming sitting next to Yao Jin and frowned. He quickly leaned over and whispered something in Tong Fei’s ear. 

After Tong Fei heard his words, she immediately turned her head around to glare at Jin Siming instead. Then she pointed at her and raised her voice: “Jin-Jin, you…..can’t possibly be like this weak looking gigolo, right? Hey, you! The one sitting next to Jin-Jin, turn around and look at me?” 

Hearing her name, JIn Siming slowly raised her head and looked at her with a puzzled expression. 

After getting a good look at her face, Yong Fei swallowed nervously, her eyebrows raised as she continued to stare at her: “She….she only has a slightly better looking face! She’s not as cute as me! She looks like a cold iceberg! She must be difficult to get along with and even if you date her in the future you’ll be dating a cold piece of wood! Meanwhile, Ji Lingfei folded her arms with a smile as if she was watching an interesting show. 

Qin Chuxuan looked between them and frowned. She turned towards Tong Fei, “Tong Fei, enough.”

Ji Lingfei, who was happily watching the show from the sidelines, suddenly heard her name and raised her eyebrows and angrily placed her hands on her hips, “You damn chibi, wherever this old lady wants to be is this old lady’s business! The two stared down at each other, about to break out their fists when suddenly Yao Jin stood up with an empty tray. She said a quick word of apology to the four people she was eating together with and moved to leave. 

Jin Siming saw she was about to leave without saying another word and escape by herself, so she reached out and grabbed her arm. Stopping her from leaving, she whispered, “When is this bug of yours gonna get fixed?” 

“What?” Yao Jin glanced at her from the side of her eyes, a flabbergasted look flashing across her eyes. 

Jin Siming sighed, “If you always choose to avoid these kinds of situations, what will you do if you encounter an even more uncompromising and persistent person in the future and they end up hurting you?” 

Yao Jin’s eyelashes trembled slightly. She stared into Jin Siming’s eyes, catching a trace of care and concern for her in them. Her heartstrings felt like they were being tugged by something, causing ripples to spread through the depths of the heart.

She couldn’t help but raise her lips, leaning close to say softly, “Are you showing concern..for me?” 

Jin Siming quickly shut her mouth and bit her tongue.
