“Yes, we said we wouldn’t be hospitalised. The emergency department didn’t know what procedures to go through and couldn’t tell. Fortunately, Director Lu, you’re here.” The patient and a family member of the patient both complained and thanked Director Lu.

“It’s okay, it’s okay,” Director Lu said with a smile.

As the group drew nearer, Xie Wanying and the others were able to understand what was happening.

They saw a young man in his early twenties pushing a wheelchair in which a middle-aged woman in her 40s was sitting.

The right side of the woman’s forehead was bandaged with gauze and adhesive tape, which should be a simple first step in an emergency.

This was the female patient, as well as her son.

As for Director Lu, he was in his fifties and he was the deputy director.

He was about the same size as an ordinary middle-aged man, with a bit of fat on his face. He didn’t wear glasses.

Doctors of this age must have extensive clinical experience and the ability to gain patients’ trust regardless of the circumstances.

“Get out of the way!” Dr. Wang glared at the medical students who were blocking the way.

The medical students, who were standing and unsure of what to do, responded by making room for the director and patient.

Xie Wanying left early behind the crowd and acted as a transparent person on the edge of the corridor.

She had no idea why Dr. Wang was again staring at her and calling her forward.

The young man pushed the female patient’s wheelchair into the dressing room, and the nurse helped the patient to sit on the examination bed in the dressing room.

Director Lu heard Dr. Wang calling someone and looked back at him questioningly.

After receiving a hint from Director Lu, Dr. Wang approached him and whispered in his ear, “Student from the eight-year program of Guoxie University.  Tonight, Huang Zhilei was the chief resident and had been roaming throughout various departments. I have no idea how to keep this person in the department.”

Director Lu squinted and replied, “Then she may come and learn.”

As she went through the medical students, Xie Wanying could feel the eyes of those who had been watching the play.

In response, she calmly walked into the dressing room. Director Lu put on the sterile gloves handed by the nurse and tore off the tape on the patient’s gauze.

“Arrggh.” The patient’s mouth creaked in pain.

After the tape was removed, the gauze was visibly adhered to the wound, making it difficult to move.

It would be even more difficult for the doctor if the patient cried out in pain. “Let her try,” Director Lu said to Dr. Wang, turning his head.

Xie Wanying didn’t respond.

The group of medical students who were watching the scene snorted. Because, everyone knew it was her first day of an internship and she shouldn’t have performed any surgical procedures at all.

Even though it was only a piece of gauze, it could be either large or small. If it hurts the patient, she would be in trouble, right?

“Come here.”

Dr. Wang, regardless of the consequences, directly instructed

Xie Wanying had to go to the front, when he whispered to her, “Be careful, this person is the patient of the director.”

Xie Wanying nodded. In fact, it didn’t matter if the patient was the director’s or not; as long as it was a patient, she would take care of him well.

She took the gloves from the nurse and put them on.

“Do you know how to put on sterile gloves?” the nurse asked as she was about to put them on.

Most of the medical students didn’t even know how to put on gloves on the first day of training.

But, Xie Wanying was not like the others. Not to mention her rebirth, she stayed in the teacher’s autopsy room every day, and she was already familiar with wearing gloves.

She didn’t have time to answer the nurse. Her hands moved smoothly, her fingers lightly squeezed the inner layer of the glove, and she put it on with a hula, so that it wouldn’t contaminate the so-called sterile area on the outer layer of the glove.
