When the dense fog blanketed the outside world, the three people in the car could no longer resist and slowly fell asleep, as if there were some sedatives that caused them to fall asleep.

Yin Yiliu felt anxious as she looked at Jin Yang’s slowly closing eyes. The monstrous-looking fog which seemed to have emerged from the ground, seeped into the car through the small gaps of the window.

After The First Fog, Yin Yiliu discovered that these fogs would not harm people’s bodies. It merely acted as a trigger for their evolutions.

She could feel the bones and flesh in her body start to itch again, but the sensation was different this time, it was as if insects and ants were burrowing into her bones.

She suppressed her fear and touched Jin Yang’s forehead with her paw, exactly like how she had done the first time. He did not have a fever nor did he appear to be in pain, it was as if he was just asleep.

She hopped to the back and checked on the Zhao siblings as well, slowly breathing a sigh of relief.

She wasn’t sure if it was because Zhao Qiyang had hybridised with a lizard, but when the white fog reached his exposed skin, hard green skin gradually appeared on his face and the back of his hands, which looked a little scary.

Yin Yiliu only took one look at him, shivered and hopped back to the front seat.

She took out half a bottle of water from the backpack and clumsily opened the bottle cap with her little paw-paws. She dampened Jin Yang’s lips little by little like she had previously done, and soon after a small damp spot appeared on the front passenger seat.

Seeing the man’s light lips became moisturised, she felt a strange satisfaction. After screwing the water bottle cap back into place, she hopped back onto the dashboard, unable to resist the drowsiness, she fell asleep.

Yin Yiliu slept lightly because she was worried about Jin Yang. As the night was coming to an end, she heard noises coming from outside the car. She blinked open her dazed eyes and pressed her entire rabbit body against the window to peer outside.

The outside world had been completely enshrouded by a thick fog, thicker than the first. The first glimmer of sunlight seemed to have given the fog a green tint.

She shook her ears. Although she couldn’t hear clearly through the glass, she could hear the angry howls of animals, coming from afar. There seemed to be other sounds mixed in as well; it sounded very noisy outside.

Then at this moment, she heard the sound of a gunshot coming from the distance, and the howling became louder, so loud that Yin Yiliu’s heart trembled.

There were people and animals nearby. It was no longer safe for them to stay here.

While she hesitated, the left side of the car was bumped; hard. The creature was so strong that it almost smashed through the car. Jin Yang’s head that was leaning on the seat slid down a little.

Yin Yiliu’s eyes gradually adjusted to the thick fog. She could see a huge animal slowly walking past their car, seemingly uninterested in them.

Seemingly mild-natured, it had a thin layer of dark grey fur. It seemed to have been stunned from bumping into their car. It had not expected there to be a big obstacle in the middle of the road. It shook its head and walked away.

Yin Yiliu watched it go further away and slowly relaxed.

Based on the memory she had from visiting zoos in her previous life, this thing should be a capybara1. It had grown to the size of a car after its mutation.

Fortunately, capybaras were gentle herbivores. Its curiosity and desire to hunt were not as strong as other wild animals.

The noises outside continued, and at times she could even see some mutated animals running through the trees. They were all massive.

Yin Yiliu weighed her options and decided to get out of the car by herself.

The people in the car were undergoing their second mutation. She had no idea when they would wake up. If the fog dissipated during the day, they would attract the already awakened people and mutated animals. Their situation would be even more dangerous at that point.

As the only one awake rabbit in the entire car, she decided to get out of the car to observe the surroundings. If anyone or anything came too close, she would pretend to be a mysterious creature in the fog and scare them away with her extreme speed.

She yanked the door handle open with her front paw, and the thick fog outside rushed into the car.

After she jumped onto the ground, she glanced back at the three people who were still asleep, took a deep breath and slammed shut the door with her head.

As soon as she got out of the car, the milky white gas wrapped itself around her. This time the fog was slightly different. If she didn’t concentrate, she would not even be able to see five metres away.

After Yin Yiliu adjusted herself to the surroundings, the situation in front of her gave her a shock.

City M, which had previously been overgrown with unusually lush greenery, had now completely transformed into a large jungle. The trees grew even taller, and the dense foliage completely obscured the sky. From her vantage point, nothing but trees could be seen, and even the buildings that were previously visible had been buried beneath the branches and leaves.

All of the plants had grown dramatically overnight.

Yin Yiliu kicked her hind legs hard, and her body easily flew high. She could tell that her jumping ability had evolved even more than before.

She leaped to the roof of the SUV to get a better view. She didn’t know what other places looked like, but City M had been completely overrun by plants.

Just as she was diligently inspecting the surroundings, another howl could be heard from a distance. Because she was outside the car this time, she could clearly feel the frightening sound waves.

" "

Yin Yiliu jumped onto the tall grass on the ground.

The grass had grown from calf level to the knee height of an adult human. Yin Yiliu was completely obscured from sight after she jumped onto the grass. She was far too tiny.

The little rabbit crawled in the grass. The sharp jagged edges of the surrounding leaves rubbed against her thick fur without actually causing any wounds, as if they were tickling her.

The howls grew louder as she closed in. Yin Yiliu could feel the ground shake as animals ran.

As she was drawing closer to the howling and sounds of people shouting, she poked her head out of the grass and looked.

She saw three massive jackals encircling a group of people. These people should be the original survivors of City M. There were quite a number of them.

A few people in the lead had guns in their hands. If the jackals took a step forward, they would fire gunshots to intimidate them into stepping back.

The bullets could penetrate the skin of these jackals and cause injury, but not to the point of death. In fact, it only agitated these jackals.

The others were armed with machetes, clubs and other weapons. And in the centre, someone was carrying a fainted man on their back.

Yin Yiliu knew that the unconscious man must be experiencing second evolution just like Jin Yang and the Zhao siblings.

Things were not looking too good for these people.
